How’s everyone doing? Hopefully, you enjoyed your fourth of July and got to spend a bit of time with family. I personally spent time with my family and enjoying great food, board games, and of course tons of fireworks. Yesterday really got me thinking about how great it is to spend time with loved ones and that inspired today’s topic. Cosplay couples are always a great sight at conventions and photographing characters that complement one another is certainly a bonus. You of course do not have to be romantically involved with the other individual as a best friend or sibling will certainly work. With that being said, let’s check out some awesome couple cosplays.
Naruto and Hinata
First up we have a classic with Naruto and Hinata. These two were destined to be together and once Naruto finally got over Sakura he was able to choose a real winner. I have personally always liked Hinata over Sakura but that’s also because I’m biased towards byakugan eyes. Sure the Sharingan is more powerful and captured everyone’s attention but I will always be team byakugan. But anyways, their character development over the series was amazing and with each new season, Hinatas infatuation grew for Naruto. Near the end of the series, they finally tied the knot and created one of the greatest cosplay couples in anime history.
Sora and Shiro
I have to admit I was rather late to watching this series but man it did not disappoint. Sora and Shiro had an unshakeable faith in one another that constantly led to several victories. Aside from a few awkward moments, these two were an amazing cosplay couple. I really believe their bond was one that many of us desire and believing in someone to this point literally takes your all. To know that no matter what this individual has your back and will always do their best to achieve a similar objective is the ultimate goal of any partnership.
Hiccup and Astrid
Probably not the couple you were expecting, but Hiccup and Astrid grew from nothing to everything over the course of these 3 movies. I love this cosplay couple simply because it was basically a friendship that turned romantic. It also helps that his dragon suit was badass! The two did not become romantically involved until later and Astrid accepted Hiccup and all of his unorthodox thought processes. Also, I simply loved this quote and regard it as one of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard in the anime world. Hiccup states to Astrid, “you and I have been through everything together. You don’t think we can handle this? Astrid, you have me, no matter what. Okay, whatever that means, whatever you want it to mean. I am with you. There will always be a Hiccup and Astrid. Always”.
Judy and Nick
Here we have another cosplay couple that developed in the most unusual of ways. Judy had always been taught not to trust foxes as they were manipulative and basically lived up to all of their stereotypes. Well at first, Nick was not a character to be trusted but overtime he became Judys most valuable partner. This was a very important lesson as both characters overcame all expectations and conquered each of their respective stereotypes. With all of the events going on in the world, we could certainly take a lesson from Judy and Nick. I believe Zootopia may be a staple Disney film to help overcome discrimination.
Naofumi and Raphtalia
Most of us have seen the rising of the shield hero and know how difficult Naofumi had it. Unfortunately, he saw and expected the best of everyone and this constantly left him disappointed and burned. His path was 10 times as hard as every other character and once he finally made it, they accuse his weapon of being overpowered. The only person that believed in him was Raphtalia as she was willing to give her life for their cause. Like Hiccup and Astrid this is a relationship that needed absolute trust to work and the fruits of their hard work in the beginning certainly showed in the end.
Lara Croft and Nathan Drake
This is a very interesting cosplay couple idea as the two have never crossed into each other’s respective universe. But, both are adventurers and their attire is rather similar so aesthetically I think this is a rather pleasing cosplay couple. Also, they are both treasure hunters meaning I’m sure they would have tons to talk about if the two ever did come in contact with one another. I believe this cosplay would be great for friends as the two characters do not have any romantic interests so no one would be expecting this when asking for a photo. But, if you did choose to go this route, the two characters simply mesh so either way you are good to go.
Brock and Nurse Joy
Last but not least we have Brock and Nurse Joy. This was more a harassment mixed in with lust and infatuation relationship than cosplay couple but it still works. I really believed that if Brock had ever gotten with Nurse Joy then he would have given her the world. Regrettably, his approach was always too strong and awkward thus instantly turning off nearly ever girl he met including Nurse Joy. This awkward connection is what makes this cosplay couple so fun to dress up as. I love to see Brock constantly being rejected by Joy and becoming more inventive with each attempt. These cosplays always make for great pictures as you can get really creative with Brocks attempts and Joys expressions.
