With all of the artwork being produced in the cosplay and anime world nowadays, it’s hard to pick and choose which are the best. I mean, I have seen some absolutely outstanding pieces of work from new and familiar artists at several conventions. As we all know, we can’t exactly hit these conventions at the moment and it’s surely weighing heavy on our cosplays spirits, at least I know it is on mine. I usually tend to spend all of my money in the dealer’s room exclusively on artwork. With all of this artwork, I seem to have forgotten one of the original pieces of anime expression that got me into the fictional world. What are these you ask? Why anime scrolls of course.
I have several scrolls adorning each wall but for some reason it has been a long time since I purchased one. Well, that’s all about to change. Today I want to take a look at some awesome anime and video game scrolls. Some of these scrolls are going to be nostalgic of course but don’t worry, I will include several new animes in the list. So buckle in and lets took a look at some of the best anime scrolls available for purchase.
Demon Slayer
First up we have Kimetsu No Yaiba. Better known as Demon slayer, this anime shook the cosplay world with the animated series being released in April. Ever since its debut, I have seen tons of Nezukos scampering around at conventions. Some have even gone as far as to have another cosplayer carry them around on their back. This is true dedication and why not carry that passion home with you in the form of an awesome Demon Slayer Wall Scroll?
High School Of The Dead
I want this anime to have another series so badly. It was a phenomenal show and had an extraordinary concept. I mean who doesn’t like zombies? As an added bonus, they mixed them with hot high schoolers and actually gave the military nerd a useful role. I really didn’t think he was going to make it but hey, tools are nothing without the knowledge of how to use them. This series really had something for everyone as such its only right that it be honored with a spot on your wall!
Tokyo Ghoul
Tokyo Ghoul was not exactly my favorite series but I can appreciate many elements of it. I really feel like this was one of those series that you completely loved or hated. Either way, I cannot deny how popular the characters from the series have become. In particular, Ken Kaneki seems to be a fan favorite as his Kakuja is very commonly crafted for several iterations of his cosplay. I am still not sure how cosplayers do this but they always look amazing when completed. Maybe they use those EVA FOAM SCALES?
Your Name
I have written about this movie before and can’t emphasize how amazing it was. In my opinion, this was a love story equal to the likes of the Notebook. That’s right, I said it! I mean grant it the ending was not as classic as the notebook but it was still phenomenal. The story unfolded in a way that you couldn’t help but be on the edge of your seat. It took a spin that I definitely did not expect. If you have not seen this anime then definitely check it out right after you finish this post. You will instantly see why purchasing this scroll is absolutely necessary!
Yu Yu Hakusho
This is a classic that many of us grew up with. There was nothing better than waiting for Toonami to come on and list its lineup. When Yu Yu Hakusho began to become a regular, it was only a matter of time until most of us were absolutely hooked. If you began watching the series during the dark tournament then there’s no way you avoided becoming a fan of this series. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of the newer shows with there amazing graphics and storylines. But, let’s not forget the classics that started us down this long road. Show some respect!
Full Metal Alchemist
I don’t know why this poster wreaks of sadness to me but it just seems to summarize the struggle of the entire series. Alphonse and Edward gave their all as they journeyed to restore their bodies and literally went through hell as they learned and achieved more. This poster is absolutely iconic and seems to show just how close they always were to achieving their dream. The only thing that could make this scroll more iconic would be an image of Nina Tucker but no one wants to relive that scene every day.
Rosario Vampire
I only learned about this series as a result of my photography but planned to watch it in the near future. Regardless, this series is about a boy named Tsukune Aono who enrolls in a monster school. There is something special about this characters blood as one of the vampires from the series immediately falls for him after tasting it. Naturally, he meets other characters that begin to take a liking to him and well the story continues on from there. Go ahead and purchase this scroll in anticipation of liking the series as I’m sure you will.
Cowboy Bebop
Last but not least we have to pay respect to another absolute classic. I am a diehard fanatic fan of this series. Cowboy Bebop is just a show that will never die. I really believe that Spike Spiegel will be cosplayed as long as cosplaying is a thing. Cowboy Bebop had everything. Cowboys, space ships, future tech along with classic weapons and martial arts all blended together to represent one of the classic animes that we have all come to love. This scroll will certainly adorn my gaming room as I still hail Cowboy Bebop as being one of the original kings of anime.
