Best anime of 2018

Welcome back and hello to any newcomers to the blog. I have been

focusing a lot on the blog lately and been trying to bring some

great content. Well todays post is no exception. Side not, if you are

reding this content and enjoy it please drop a comment below. Id

love to hear from you. Now back to business! I decided to dedicate

todays post to the best anime of 2018. Why 2018 and not 2019 you

ask? Well its simple, because 2019 hasn’t finished and we still have

many new series to check out.

I want to give them a fair chance to make their mark on the anime

and cosplay worlds. For this list, Im including all genres series and

styles. Ill admit its rather difficult to select the top 10 but someone

has to do it. So I’ve decided to role up my sleeves and take on this

difficult task. With that being said, lets look at the best anime of

2018.

1.Steins Gate 0

Steins Gate 0 is a sequel to the awesome 2011 anime series steins

gate. The story takes place immediately after the first series and

focuses on Rintaro Okabe failing to save Kurisu Makise. He finds

himself thrown into a new issue that involves more time jumps

and dangerous artificial intelligence. This anime is rather difficult

to explain and honestly must be watched and thought about to

truly understand. It unfolds in a very peculiar way and is unlike

any other anime of 2018 I have seen. If this series fascinates you

feel free to

represent it at your next convention by cosplaying as Rintaro

Okabe. Im sure others will pick up on who you are.

2.Cells at Work

This anime is absolutely awesome and extremely unique. I have

never seen anything like it before. Well, anything like the concept

before. Cells at work is about the human body and literally, the

cells that run it. Everything from red to white blood cells is covered

in this series along with their actual role in the body.

To make

things more interesting, the series commonly introduces bacteria

and viruses into the body causing the cells to work together to

eliminate them. I HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone

interested and would love to see someone cosplaying as some of

the white or red blood cells. Would certainly my day as a

photographer. Fortunately, the costumes are rather cheap so this

should be doable.

3. Devilman CryBaby

Next up we have Devilman Crybaby. I really don’t know what to

say about this series. I was maybe 3 episodes in and couldn’t watch

it anymore. Not because it was a bad series or anything. Quite the

contrary actually, it was very good. The violence, gore and nudity

were just a bit much for me. Theres scenes where vaginas and

breasts become demons and devour people alive. Im not sure what

I was watching at that point had to give it a hard pass.

But don’t let my weak stomach be a deterrent for you. Many people

love it and swear by it because it seems to actually be a very good

cosplay pics of the series at my next convention (MOMOCON) so

pick up a devil man crybaby cosplay at your earliest convince.

For both yours and my sake lol.

4. Violet Evergarden

I will admit I have not seen this anime but I have seen this cosplay

at several conventions. Im just glad I finally figured it out before I

made a fool of myself by calling the character by another name. If

your like me and haven’t seen the series, it focuses on well, Violet

Evergaden. She is a young girl that left the battlefield to work at

the post office. I have heard nothing but great things about this

series and based off my friends, which I highly trust regarding

there anime selections, I also recommend this series. This costume

is made of chiffon and cotton and for the price is very well put

together and detailed. You can snag it for about 90 bucks or

possibly a bit less. Either way, it’s a great deal.

5.Darling In the Franxx

So many people have picked up Zero Twos cosplay because of this

series. She is a very iconic character and easily discerned from

other cosplayers in a crowd. Her bright red suite is skintight and

definitely causes the imagination to roam. The series focuses on a

post-apocalyptic future where humanity fights large beasts called

klaxosaurs. To fight the klaxosaurs, artificial children are created

to pilot giant Gundam like mechs known as Franxx. The pilots are

actually paired couples that must bond or synchronize to activate

and control the giant mech. Only problem is, anyone that bonds

with Zero Two outside of a certain main character, ends up badly

injured or dead. I wont ruin the series for you but its definitely

worth investigating.

6. A Place Further than the Universe

This is a much more peaceful series when compared to Devilman

Crybaby and Darling in the Franxx. The idea is that the main

character Mari Tamaki wants to travel and explore the world. Well

lucky for her she meets a girl named Shirase Kobichizawa who is

planning to travel to Antarctica to search for her mother. The

series is only 13 episodes long so you will have it finished in no

time. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find many cosplays

other than the jacket that replicate the characters from the series

so you will either have to go with homemade, or request someone

to make one for you. But in the meantime, you cant get some cool

figures of the main characters to tide you over. Better than

nothing right?

7.The Seven Deadly Sins Revival of the Commandments

If you have noticed, Netflix has been releasing absolute fire lately.

They have been releasing some of the best anime of 2018 all yer

long. The first Seven deadly sins was phenomenal and the second

season didn’t disappoint either. For those unfamiliar with the

series, it revolves around a group of heroes called the seven deadly

sins and they combat anyone or thing that would threaten

humans.

Characters in the series have unique abilities and back stories that

come together to make one of the best anime of 2018. Everything

from the magic, weapons and combination of mythical races

simply flows. The main character, “Meliodas” is actually rather

overpowered but several characters still give him a run for his

money. I can’t wait for season 3 to come out. Not sure when that is

though, ill check into that soon.

8. That time I got Reincarnated as a Slime

This one is an absolute must! That time I got reincarnated as a

slime begins like any other anime of 2018 but quickly evolves into

something much more. Satoru Mikami is unfortunately murdered

by a robber on his way from work and well as the title says,

reincarnated. He becomes a slime in a completely different world

with an ability known as predator. This allows him to devour

others and acquire their abilities. With his newfound abilities, he

embarks on a journey to release a dragon by the name of Veldora

from his seal. It may not sound very interesting but trust me, it

draws you in. Im definitely ready for the second season of this

awesome anime.

9. Attack on Titan Season 3

Ill be the first to admit that this series has lost a lot of its “steam”

since the release of season 1, at least for me anyways. I feel the

story and theme were still very new forcing viewers to be drawn

into something they had never seen before. Questions such as,

did the titans come from and why is the main character capable of

becoming one were still up for grabs.

But now that we know, it

kind of feels like a letdown, this is my opinion of course. But the

story aside, the visuals are absolutely phenomenal. I never get

tired of watching massive titans destroy one another or hunting

humans to slaughter them. I really hope the next season is able to

bring back some of the mystery of the first and introduce some

wild spins we never saw coming.

10. Megalo Box

Last but not lease we have a series that many seemed to overlook

for 2018. Being a fan of the classic Hajime No Ippo series, I had to

give megalo box a shot. And man o man did it not disappoint. The

series focuses on an underground boxer named gearless joe and

his goal to become the top boxer. Most boxers use gears to assist

with their boxing abilities, but joe is both to good and too poor to

acquire gears.

Under the management of his extremely shady friend “Nanbu”

they work to overcome the odds life has thrown their way and

become the strongest boxing duo of all time. If you cant tell I really

loved this series and have a soft spot for it due to its relation to

Hajime no ippo. I would still rank Ippo over this series but it’s

definitely a close second.

I hope you enjoyed this look at the best anime of 2018. There are

still several series that I have yet to see and wish I could have

included in the list, but tough decisions had to be made and series

had to be cut lol. If you enjoyed this post regaurding the best anime
