Most influencers and cosplayers that I know want to increase their reach and followers. This can be done via a multitude of ways with one of the most important methods involving being consistent on social media. A second very common method is to promote your work on Pinterest. Lots of people I find do not value Pinterest but it’s one amazing tool for getting others to notice your work. To help with posting on these sites, I want to revisit a service I began using in June of 2019. Its been a while since I spoke about this amazing automated service, so I wanted to give an update on what tailwind has helped me accomplish.
Instagram Profile Performance

Unfortunately, I cannot go all the way back to when I started Tailwind to show you my progress but I can jump back to December. From the beginning of December 24 to January 24 I have gained nearly 100 followers. Over the last 31 days, I have gained about 100 followers. I have made 68 posts and received over 2.9k likes. I know this isn’t a ton of followers but for me, it’s a lot. Tailwind allows you to track your progress even when you really do not believe you are making any.

When it comes to posting, Tailwind automatically sets the optimal times for you to post and schedules your post accordingly. You, of course, can change each of these settings manually and post more or less according to your preferences. I have tailwind set to post twice a day and its really nice when I do not feel like searching through my convention images to make an Instagram post for the day. I simply set up my posting schedule for the week and it does its thing.
Hashtags

Another amazing feature of this app is that it allows you to save your hashtags. This means that each time you post you do not have to input hashtags all over again and can simply swap out a few depending on which picture you are showing. Tailwind also shows you which hashtags are the most and least popular. Sometimes you do not realize how much competition there is for a certain hashtag and this may lead to fewer people actually seeing your post. Instead, you can opt for a slightly less used hashtag meaning you may have a smaller audience, but more eyes will actually see your post. With Instagram’s terrible new algorithm, it only makes sense that you have to adopt any strategy that will hopefully allow you to get ahead.
Instagram Inspector

I do not use this feature as often, but the inspector feature allows you to see how many likes you got on a post along with exactly when you posted it. It also shows the number of comments a post is getting so this can hopefully help guide your image release process along with which hashtags are doing the best. I know I personally struggle with this because although I have not confirmed it, it seems Instagram does not like repeated use of the exact same hashtags. Of course, there’s some that you will use all the time but trying to mix them up is much easier with this app. You do not have to scroll on your phone between posts to search each picture hashtag individually. I did not know how annoying this was until I started using this app. Trust me it’s a time saver being able to post and track all of these things automatically.

Ok so now that we mentioned Instagram lets talk about Pinterest. My Pinterest isn’t doing as well as I want but hey its definitely on the rise. As you can see from the image, there have been slight dips but an overall steady growth rate is being shown. Once again this is all being achieved by simply letting the system run itself. I set which pins I want to post to my boards and the pins are automatically released at the set times. I forgot to mention, that you can also set the pins and Instagram posts to release instantly. You do not have to wait for the scheduled time. This means that if you want an image to drop today alongside your scheduled posts you can make that happen.

If you want to run Instagram and Pinterest posts simultaneously then you will have to purchase two separate accounts. I did not know this originally when I signed up but after a month of using the Instagram and free trial Pinterest account, I decided it was definitely worth upgrading. The results of using Tailwind where not immediate so be patient. With the yearly rate amount, you will save some money and not have to worry about the pesky monthly payment and possibly over-drafting your account.

Also noted is that in the early days of January, I accidentally deleted my Pinterest account while trying to upgrade some features which is why you see the January drop. Another awesome feature that this app just introduce is posting videos. I have yet to really try to use this feature but it’s completely free with a paid subscription. Convention videos are new for me, so I’m sure I will start using it a lot more often.

Its difficult to emphasize how amazing Tailwind is for both growth and tracking the amount of progress one is making. Sometimes we assume a post is going to do better than is actually does while another does much worse than we believe. I will continue to update you guys on how this app is doing along with my growth on both Pinterest and Instagram. As usual for more amazing cosplay news feel free to click HERE!
