Everyone has been anxiously waiting to receive their stimulus check and many have already received it. I have heard several speak about the hypothetical things they are going to do with this money but let’s face it, most of us will be irresponsible. Why put it into savings or lower that credit card when you could buy an amazing cosplay and still have some leftover for all the other bills. Well, my friend, I’m here to help you make that awesome possibly irresponsible decision. But, instead of just choosing any outfit, you have to go with one that says the government finally donated to my cosplay dreams. What better way to do that than by buying a green cosplay outfit?
Green Ranger
First, on the list we have an old school favorite that everyone seems to enjoy. At least, I know I do whenever he struts his way through a convention. Who might you ask? Well, none other than the legendary Green Ranger. His introduction onto the Mighty Morphin lineup left children all over the world speechless at the time. There have been many green rangers since Tommy Oliver’s debut but none of them quite hit like Tommy.
Green Lantern
Though I have never read the comic I know the quote “In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might, beware my power: Green Lantern’s light” all too well. I believe my introduction to him came with the justice league cartoon. At least that’s as early as I can remember at the moment. Either way, green lantern is always a pleasure to cosplay as and his green suit will surely help you remember the time you bought cosplay with your stimulus money.
Deku
This season of My Hero Academia certainly took us for a ride and surely left us with some thoughts. Regardless of your feelings about this season, Deku is a character that wears green very proudly. Rightfully so since he is the inheritor of one for all. Cosplaying as Deku will actually not set you back that much meaning you can at least make a few responsible decisions with your left over money.
Froppy
If being cute and finding a way to blow your money are a necessity than look no further than Froppy. This heroes costume will have you posing for photographers in no time. She has a strong moral compass which usually prevents her from doing anything unjust. I believe this would also be a great starter cosplay as she does not require much to portray. Though her shoes and goggles may present a bit of a challenge.
Shield Hero
I can not wait for the second season of this anime and honestly hope the other heroes get what they deserve. They did some pretty terrible things to the shield hero and in my opinion, never got the punishment they deserved. That aside, his costume is absolutely gorgeous and deserves to be scheduled for that next convention shoot you know you are planning. His story is literally one of rags to riches which may correlate to this stimulus check lol.
Rock Lee
The legend of the Beautiful Green Wild Beast needs to be passed down from generation to generation. I really would not mind a spin-off with Rock Lee as the main character rather than Naruto. Since I do not see this happening in the foreseeable future, we will have to settle for remembering his feats throughout the series. He never got that true rematch with Neji but I believe it would not have been as one-sided as many think.
Hela
The mistress of death always brings her Sunday bests for the slaughter. And by her bests I mean her skin tight green and black outfit which surely strikes fear into even the God of Thunder. I really need to read more about her as she seemed nearly unstoppable in the movie. I wonder just how powerful she is and if the creators watered her down to display the constant good triumphing over evil idea. Either way, I have photographed several Hela cosplays and never get tired of seeing this stimulus check green cosplay.
Mojojo
Not really a costume so much as it’s his skin, Mojo jojo was one of my favorite characters in the power puff girls. His quotes were absolutely hilarious and his monologues were the best. I got to photograph @Hitomi.lola and man did she do this cosplay justice. I really want to see two Mojo jojos meet at a convention and recite his legendary “in reality there is only room enough in this world for one Mojo Jojo. One shall be the number of Mojo Jojos in the world, and the number of Mojo Jojos in the world shall be one. Two Mojo Jojos is too many, and three is right out” quote.
Toph Beifong
I have written about Toph Beifong on several occasions and this post is no exception. Despite the fact that her outfit is not all green, it’s still green enough to be considered for stimulus check money. As an added bonus Toph Beifong swindled several on many occasions and was no stranger to the idea of making money by any means necessary. I really don’t see a better way to pay her respect than by using free money to purchase this cosplay outfit. I think Toph could respect that.
Cammy
Cammy is an old school classic that resonated with many 2D-Fighter veterans. She has gone through many changes and outfits over the years but her 1993 green skin-tight suit is iconic. People may not know anything about her combos or her move list but they know a Cammy when they see one. It’s hard to believe that technically she was introduced to the series as a 19-year-old girl. Its been 27 years since her release that would technically put her at 46. Where does the time go?
