League of Legends TRUE DAMAGE Cosplays

True Damage Cosplay

With the release of Disney+, a lot of people have been hung up on the Mandalorian. Don’t get me wrong I watch it as well and it’s absolutely amazing. But let’s just turn our attention for a few seconds to another awesome set of characters that received all new skins. This game has been around since 2009 and is always updating is character roster as well as character animations. What is it your wondering? Well, it’s none other than the 2018 sports Emmy award winning game League of Legends. I have written previous posts about cosplaying from this series but with the introduction of these new skins, I feel it was time to revisit the subject. Side note those old posts can be found HERE!

Now I know you may be wondering why I’m bringing up cosplaying a game that has been out for several years? Well, my friend, that’s because riot has put out an amazing music group known as True Damage. The group is a play on the type of damage done in the game known as well “true damage”. This type of damage ignores all defenses be it magical or physical resulting in ridiculous amounts of damage. Currently, the group has 5 members. They are AkaliEkkoQiyanaYasuoand Senna.  To match the skins for the group, riot has also released an amazing video entitled GiantsIt’s ridiculous so go and listen NOW!!

Akali

Akali True Damage

First up we have the assassin AkaliAkali is one of the older characters on the list and has been around since 2010. Anyone who has played this game knows just how deadly she can be. She has the ability to make a character’s health bar vanish nearly instantly. Her default costume is a green cloth armor assassin outfit. It differs greatly from her newly released True Damage Outfit. This new outfit sports a dark blue base color with orange stripes and white “damage” bands. It looks gorgeous and when combined with her L.E.D GAS MASK looks so awesome. Right now, all of the true damage items cosplays are on sale at EZCOSPLAY so take advantage of the sale before it ends. Start dropping the hints to loved ones now to make sure it arrives by Christmas.

Qiyana

Next up we have Qiyanaempress of the elementsSimilar to Akali, she is an assassin and thus absolutely annihilates opponents.  Unlike Akali, she is a newcomer. She was released earlier this year and as such may just be the youngest singer on the True Damage roster. If you are interested in cosplaying as this character you can get all of the accessories as well-meaning you will not have much to do if you intend to wear the character to your next convention. Unfortunately, her most amazing aspect may just be her weapon and they do not have this accessory available for purchase. But with the amount of time your saving purchasing the entire costume, you should have plenty of time to work on the weapon.

Senna

Senna True Damage

One of my favorite characters from the set is none other than Senna. She is a ranged damage character that rocks a BIG F*****G GunI mean its absolutely massive. I have to go ahead and admit that this isn’t my favorite skin for this character. The first would have to be her Shadows Embrace costume.  If you haven’t seen this cosplay in action than feel free to check out the amazing @cutiepiesensies  page. Her outfit is ridiculous and gives you an idea of what you can create once you put your mind to it. But back to the True Damage Costume.  The item that stands out the most about this costume is the red top. It has this cray textured sleeve pattern along with an exaggerated neck region. I’m not really sure how you would get this to stand up the way it does in the images but I have faith in you.

Yasuo

Yasuo True Damage
Yasuo True Damage

Yasuo the Unforgiven was released in 2013 and uses various wind techniques to cut down his opponents. I was actually rather shocked that they choose Yasuo to be a member of True Damage. I always imagined this character as being rather quiet and not necessarily the outgoing type. But then again he is the DJ so he really doesn’t have to speak. This is my second favorite costume out of the group. With EKKO being the first.  Yasuo’s traditional costume appears to be very loose-fitting yet comfortable. I’m not exactly sure what the material is made from but long story short, it looks very comfortable. His shoulders and forearm are protected by armor while his entire torso is basically bare. His TRUE DAMAGE costume is downright badass. The most appealing part of this outfit for me is the jacket, as the shoulders have built-in speakers. If you were to make these work, you would certainly be the literal life of the party.

EKKO

Ekko True Damage

Ekko the boy who shattered time is my top pic from the TRUE DAMAGE set. Oddly enough, I do not even play this character. I simply loved his role in the music video. Something about the face paint, jacket and backpack look amazing to me. Hopefully, I can somehow pull off this cosplay for 2020 but who knows as I have tons of plans with most of them focusing on photography and videography. The next aspect of this cosplay I want to discuss is the weapon. His sword perfectly matches his TRUE DAMAGE outfit and appears to be rather massive. Mix in a few L.E.Ds with this outfit and you certainly have one of the best League of legend costumes available, in my opinion.

If you cant tell, I really love this skin set and want to see an entire TRUE DAMAGE group at my next convention. But even If I do not, there’s always the rest of the year to see one. Thanks so much for checking out my post. If you enjoyed it, feel free to leave a message below. I would love to hear from you guys.
