Ok, let’s have a little heart to heart for a minute. We have all seen tons of anime along with read several manga. Everything from classics like Dragonball z and Bleach to Demon Slayer and My Hero Academia. Sure these shows are great and all but if you really think about these shows, they provide a lot more than entertainment for us. What do I mean you ask? Well, if you look closely, you will start to notice that some of the shows actually give us some heard felt life lessons. Let’s check out exactly what some of these shows have to offer.
Power of Friendship Trumps All
If you have not learned this lesson in anime by now then go back and rewatch a few of your favorite series. You will quickly realize that I am certainly telling the truth. I don’t care how long or hard you have trained. You could have been biogenetically bread for this one task. Hell, you could have been reincarnated and lived several lives doing the same thing. None of it will matter as soon as the main character takes out a friendship card. All bets are off once this card is played. Castles crumble, arch enemies fall and legends are born. Trust me, Friendship is the end all be all. Just ask any villain that fought Team 7 in Naruto. The same move over and over cannot be countered.
Fear the Guy with Glasses
If you are wondering who the main threat to the entire plot is at this moment in time it’s definitely the character with glasses. They’re usually up to something and you can almost always assume they have genius-level intellect. Some examples are Sosuke Aizen, Dr. Stein, and Kabuto. All of these characters had an agenda and turned out to have some world-ending plan up there sleeve. Thankfully most were thwarted by friendship, but nonetheless they were a sight to behold in their prime. As a side note, there are several characters that are on the side of good that also have glasses, but they just don’t seem to have as large of an impact as the evil ones.
Rage Needs To Be Checked
Most of us have gone into fits of rage or experienced uncontrollable anger. We may get into a fight or destroy a few things. Some of us even take it to the point of arson or keying cars. No matter your reason or the action you take as a result of this rage, they will never measure up to the acts committed by anime characters. Take Gon from Hunter X Hunter. This guy raged so hard he aged and discarded his entire life. I think most of us would have had to step back at some point and just think is it really worth all this. Another great example is Seras Victoria from Hellsing Ultimate. She just went ahead and gave us another example of taking things well past there breaking point. Please, ma’am, calm the **** down.
Healthy Competition Is A Great Thing
There’s nothing like that push from a friend to help you overcome obstacles and achieve that goal you have always wanted. In the case of anime, it usually comes in the form of rivalries. Rivalries are a very old concept in anime and have been around for everyone. One of the more recent ones is Asta and Yuno. They both want to achieve the same results but have completely different ways of going about it. Yuno is blessed with amazing abilities and having everything come easily. Asta, on the other hand, struggles with the most basic of tasks and is always clawing his way to the top. Another great example is Goku and Vegeta. They are both where they are because they have pushed one another tirelessly. So the key to getting stronger is getting your self a good rival.
Hone Your Skills
Most of us hate grinding. By grinding, I mean completing the same action several thousands of times. Maybe it’s repeating a kick, punch or throw. In the academic world, it could be doing an endless number of math problems or reading the same type of books tirelessly. No matter your grind, we usually get bored with them rather quickly. Well my friend, if you want to be great then you need to repeat this motion for at least 3 seasons or more lol. Naruto literally created more if himself so he could reproduce the same movement millions of times. And let’s not talk about how many times Goku has launched a Ka-ME-HA-ME-HA. He has literally been throwing this move since 1986. So the next time you think to yourself I’m tired of doing this action, ask yourself if you have been doing it for 34 years.
Slackers Go Far
Finally, we have slackers make it the furthest in life. So many anime have characters that are complete slackers. They sleep in class or skip it completely. Meanwhile, every other student is giving it their all and simply trying to exist in the merciless anime world. But low and behold that one character that literally missed every lesson and spent his time fighting behind the school gym is the town’s savior. I’m not saying that you should drop out of school and pursue the one thing you are good at but, the anime world doesn’t lie LOL. After seeing this theme repeated time and time again, you can’t help but start to wonder if they have a point. Really makes you wonder if it was all for nothing.
Now all of these points are of course in fictional worlds with characters that possess supernatural abilities. But, maybe you can take a few of them with a grain of salt. You know, apply about 45% of the ideas expressed because there aren’t any wish fillers in this world. Well, none that I know about. I hope you enjoyed this post and found some humor in it.
