How’s everyone doing today? I really need to find a way to actually
see how you guys are doing. Maybe a poll attached to article that
tallies everything up, hmmm food for thought. But anyways, today
we have an awesome post about one of the hottest animes of this
and last year. That’s right im talking about That Time I got
Reincarnated as A Slime. I have to admit, I was extremely
skeptical about this anime the first time I heard the title.
I thought, what the hell could an anime about a slime have to offer
me? But man, o man was I wrong. I recently started this series and
have already nearly finished the first seasons. So with that being
said, lets check out some reasons why you should watch this anime
and cosplay as, That Time I Got Reincarnated as A Slime.
Background
If your anything like me, you were immediately turned off by the
title of this anime. I mean what kind of title is That Time I Got
Reincarnated as A Slime? I really though this anime was about one
of those boring slimes that you find in RPG games. They just
destroy your weapons and are overall really annoying to deal with.
But man, O man was I wrong. Well, kind of wrong. This series is
about a slime but its not your typical slime. More like a slime on
every steroid known to man with a hint of cocaine. This slime has
abilities that no other slime has even dreamed about.
Without giving to much away, Satoru Mikami, your average
maybe slightly below average Japanese male gets stabbed. He
unfortunately he dies but in the process, is granted several abilities
based off his dying thoughts or wishes. He is then reincarnated as
go figure, a slime, in another world. Here he meets several other
mythical creatures with one of the strongest being the storm
dragon.
Using his unique ability, Predator, he consumes the dragon in order
to actually help him. This little slime then ventures out to not only
find a saving grace for the dragon but, also other people who may
have been transported to this world from japan. The story picks up
dramatically and evolves into so much more. Please, Please, Please
check this anime out.
Characters to Cosplay As
If you have fallen in love with the series based off of my short
description or if you have already seen the series then I really don’t
need to sell it anymore. But, if you still require some convincing,
check out some of these awesome characters you could cosplay as.
I mean the main character (Tempest Rimuru) of course is an
absolute bad ass. He is capable of transforming into any character
he has consumed, and this gives him access to his human form. I
wont ruin things and tell you who he consumes but after seeing
his/her abilities, you will definitely want to cosplay as them.
Even the villains in this show are awesome. He comes across an
awesome ogre by the name of Benimaru. He is the leader of
the ogres and has several other ogres under his command
including Shuna and Hakurou. Unlike other animes,
ogres in this series are not portrayed as the large hulking,
thoughtless green giants that clobber everything in their path. They
are actually very intelligent in this series and well, lets just say
their story develops a bit. Last but not least of the characters you
should think about cosplaying as, we have the Blue Shadow.
First can we stop and admire this name a bit. I think Blue Shadow
is absolutely Bad Ass name. How could you not be worried about
someone named blue shadow coming for you. I know I would
immediately drop everything I was doing and get this issue sorted
out. Who is this guy, what business does he have with me, how the
hell did he get the nickname Blue Shadow.
All legitimate questions
in my opinion. Also, if you choose to cosplay as this character, you
get to wear a massive horn out of the middle of your forehead. So
not only are you cosplaying as a character from That Time I Got
Reincarnated as a Slime, but you are also cosplaying as a unicorn.
That’s a double win!
Escape From Reality
And for the grand finally on why you should check out this
awesome anime we have its theme. What do I mean by that? Well
The series starts off with a terrible event and turns this into an
awesome afterlife. How many of us hate our 9 to 5 and would love
to be transported away from it all. I know I can personally testify
to this thought process and That Time I Got Reincarnated As a
Slime does a great job at this. Satoru Mikami, is an average guy
like many of us and didn’t ask for any of this. He has regrets about
women (im sure every guy can relate) and is kind of just
wandering through life.
His reincarnation gives him purpose and actual sense of being of
live. Its ironic that he had to die to actually live. Second, the manga
does a really good job at trying to explain and expand upon his
urge to bridge the world between monster and man. Know matter
the race or color of the individual, Satoru Mikami wants an equal
and fair world for them to live in. I believe we definitely need a lot
more people with this thought process in the real world and even
viewing it the form of an anime or manga is refreshing.
I hope you enjoyed my look at why should check out the awesome
anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. I highly
recommend this anime for everyone and believe it holds a bit of
something everybody can relate to. Action, humor and character
develop define this series leading to one of the greatest anime I
