Every anime has a completely different protagonist that defines the theme and genre of that particular series. These protagonists are the main focus of the entire show, so the creators have to make them as interesting as possible.
Today, we are going to take a closer look at some of the best anime protagonists that are perfect for cosplayers.
Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)
Naruto is one of the most popular anime protagonists that are loved by fans all over the world. This boy has a very likable personality as he deeply cares for all of his friends. Naruto is a pretty good option for cosplayers because his character can be cosplayed quite easily. Our favorite genin has spiky blonde hair, and his usual clothing has an orange theme. One thing that I love about Naruto is the fact that he also has a female version, so females can cosplay as Naruto as well.
Goku (Dragon Ball Z)
Being someone who can destroy literal planets in just a second, Goku is probably the strongest anime protagonist in the entire world. Power is everything for this Saiyan, and he is ready to fight any kind of opponent. Like most shounen protagonists, Goku has a very light-hearted and lovable personality. Goku is usually seen wearing his orange-themed martial arts uniform that suits him quite nicely. But, all bets are off when he turns into a Super Saiyan.
Jotaro Kujo (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures)
Jotaro Kujo is the 3rd JoJo in the series and also, a fan favorite. This guy has a very tense and serious personality, which complements his tall and muscular build. While Jotaro can seem a bit intimidating from afar, this anime protagonist is a very good guy at heart that deeply cares for all of his friends. Jotaro looks like an absolute high school delinquent. This guy is usually seen wearing his uniform with a chain attached on one side along with medium-length black hair that is covered by a half-cut cap.
Izuku Midoriya (My Hero Academia)
Izuku Midoriya is the protagonist of a modern-shounen anime that has recently become one of the most popular shows of the current era. This boy exhibits all of the usual shounen protagonist tropes in a brilliant and realistic way. Izuku is a determined young boy who is ready to face any kind of danger. With a caring and relatable personality, Izuku is a must for every cosplayer. He can be seen wearing a very flashy hero outfit with a green theme.
Saitama (One Punch Man)
Okay, this anime protagonist can only get cosplayed by all the bald anime fans out there. Saitama is also known as the One Punch Man as this guy is able to defeat every single enemy with just a single punch. This guy is so powerful that he has started to think of his amazing powers as a curse. Saitama is constantly on the search for worthy opponents. His outfit consists of a yellow jumpsuit with a red cape on the back.
Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon)
Now, let us also talk about an amazing female protagonist in the world of anime that deserves our attention. Usagi is a very powerful girl who is the sailor protector of love and justice. She is a very honorable and likable person. At the beginning of the series, Usagi is just a clumsy and cheerful little girl, but her personality develops as the show progresses. Usagi has many different outfits that are all very cute and attractive
Lelouch Vi Britannia (Code Geass)
Lelouch Vi Britannia is my personal favorite on this entire list because of his complex personality and unique clothing. While he is not as physically capable as most of the other entries on my list, this guy is an absolute genius who can defeat anyone in a battle of wits. Lelouch’s character develops in a very realistic manner as the story of Code Geass progresses. He has a pretty slender build, and he is usually seen wearing his Zero outfit. As Zero, Lelouch wears a helmet over his face to hide his real identity. As the emperor of Britannia, Lelouch wears a very attractive and classy white robe.
Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
Monkey D. Luffy is an older shounen protagonist just like Naruto and Goku. On his search for the legendary One Piece, Luffy is always ready to face any kind of enemy. This boy wants to become the king of all pirates. While he is quite naïve at first, Luffy becomes a more understanding and mature person as the story progresses. This boy is usually wearing his red vest with shorts and sandals. Luffy’s straw hat is seen as his universal trademark because he is always wearing it. This straw hat was given to him by the legendary pirate, Red-Haired Shanks.
Revy (Black Lagoon)
Revy is another female protagonist on my list that deserves to get cosplayed by every professional cosplayer. She has a very realistic design, which means that she is the perfect character for every beginner in the world of cosplay. Revy is a very rowdy and powerful girl who is ready to take on any kind of enemy. This girl is feared by every single man as she really knows her way around a gun. Revy wears a somewhat revealing outfit that consists of a crop top and very short jeans. She is an attractive and charismatic young lady that manages to charm anyone quite easily.
Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer)
Last but not least we have Tanjiro. Tanjiro is another modern-shounen protagonist, just like Midoriya, and this boy is a true knight of justice. Tanjiro is a demon slayer, who wants to find a cure for his little sister. Being extremely determined, Tanjiro is ready to risk his life to protect what he loves. This boy has a very athletic physique and brownish-black hair. With a scar on his face and his beautiful red eyes, Tanjiro should be a part of every cosplayer’s bucket list. Tanjiro is usually seen wearing green-themed traditional Japanese clothes.
